Task Quarry

Shipped Live (closed beta)

A faster glance at your Obsidian day.

Task Quarry came from a very small personal frustration.

For my personal Obisian vault, I already had a task system that worked well enough: plain checkboxes and the Tasks plugin. I did not want a whole new productivity setup. I just wanted a faster way to glance at my day on my phone without opening Obsidian, jumping between notes, or dealing with the extra clutter that comes from also using the same vault for journaling.

So I built a small Android companion app for myself.

Task Quarry scans the vault locally and pulls out the tasks into a cleaner, more focused interface. No sync, no server, not trying to replace Obsidian. Just a simpler mobile view over the task system I was already using.

Part of the appeal was also the excuse to finally build a mobile app. And since I was making it for myself, I let it stay narrow. That helped. Instead of trying to be a full task manager, it only had to solve one thing well.

Where it stands

Task Quarry is shipped and working for my own use. The full story and screenshots are in the blog post. I still like it because it solves a real daily annoyance without adding much complexity in return. If you want to try it out, feel free to reach out to me and I can give you beta access to the Android app.
